Job Description

Dillon Small Animal Hospital is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for animal care and welfare, along with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced veterinary environment. The role involves assisting veterinarians in providing high-quality care to small animals, ensuring their health and comfort during visits. Pay will be dependent on experience. Duties

  • Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures, including administering medications and vaccines as directed.
  • Prepare animals for surgery by ensuring proper aseptic technique and handling.
  • Preform laboratory testing, including blood draws, urinalysis, while maintaining accurate records.
  • Handle and restrain animals safely during examinations and treatments, particularly with dogs and cats.
  • Communicate with other team members and doctors with respect, accuracy and efficiency.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the clinic by regularly cleaning cages, surgical areas, equipment, and other general cleaning tasks.
  • Utilize X-ray and ultrasound equipment when necessary to assist in diagnostic procedures.
  • Support the veterinary team with administrative tasks such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, collecting payments, and managing patient records. Preferred Skills

  • 1•2 years Veterinary Technician experience preferably in small animal clinic •
