Veterinary Technician responsibilities include assisting the Veterinarian with surgeries and procedures, coordinating animal care, and monitoring animal recovery. You will work closely with the entire clinic staff to ensure the health and well-being of all of our pet patients. If you are passionate about providing exceptional animal care, we'd like to meet you. Responsibilities Take vital signs, collect blood and tissue samples, place IV catheters, administer medications or vaccines, and acquire blood samples Prepare animals and sterile instruments for procedures, and induce, monitor, and recover patients from anesthesia Run in-house lab tests, prepare specimens for reference laboratories, and take X-rays. Administer medications and provide at-home dosage instructions for clients Maintain accurate patient medical records, manage supplies, and clean equipment Ability to lift heavy objects or animals, handle high-stress situations calmly, and show strong empathy and communication skills Thoroughly clean and disinfect cages, runs, kennels, and stalls using hospital-grade chemicals. Remove solid waste, old food, and hair before scrubbing and sanitizing surfaces. Observe waste output, appetite, breathing, and behavior, reporting any abnormal signs or illness immediately to the veterinarian or senior technician. Interacting with and caring for rescue animals. Qualifications Individuals must have completed an accredited veterinary technology program and pass the Veterinary Technician National Examination. Previous experience as a Veterinary Technician Knowledge of animal care and handling Excellent communication skills Ability to multi-task and remain organized in a busy environment Patience and a love for animals
