Job Description

Job Overview Cove Mountain is seeking a dedicated Veterinary Technician to join our veterinary team. In this role, you will provide compassionate animal care, assist veterinarian/other technicians with medical procedures, and ensure the highest standards of animal welfare. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help create a positive environment for our patients and their owners. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys patient care, client communication, teamwork, and working in a fast-paced veterinary setting. Duties Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures by preparing animals and equipment. Perform animal restraint and handling using proper techniques to ensure safety for both animals and staff. Conduct laboratory tests, including sample collection and analysis, to support accurate diagnoses. Maintain aseptic technique during procedures to prevent infections and ensure patient safety. Manage pet care routines such as feeding, grooming, and administering medications as directed. Take X-ray images, ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed. Support animal husbandry tasks including cleaning kennels, monitoring animal behavior, and providing comfort to hospitalized pets. Assist with dental procedures by understanding dental terminology and supporting oral health treatments. Handle pet grooming tasks when needed, ensuring animals are comfortable throughout the process. Contribute to veterinary critical care by monitoring vital signs, administering treatments, and supporting emergency interventions. Skills Strong knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, and veterinary terminology to support accurate patient care. Experience with kennel management, dog handling, and animal restraint techniques. Proficiency in surgery, laboratory procedures, X-ray imaging, and aseptic techniques essential for diagnostics, also including gathering paperwork and sending out samples. Ability to communicate effectively with team members about veterinary procedures and patient status. Prior veterinary technician experience or related animal handling roles. Experience with electronic medical records preferred. Demonstrated capability in animal IV catheterization, laboratory work, and critical care support is highly valued. Pay:
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour
