Responsibilities Perform animal restraint and handling to ensure safety during examinations and treatments. Conduct laboratory work such as blood draws (phlebotomy), sample processing, and diagnostic testing using veterinary software. Monitor anesthesia during surgical procedures, including IV insertion, vascular access, and anesthesia monitoring. Administer medications accurately and document all treatments in compliance with veterinary protocols. Operate medical equipment including radiology machines (X-ray), diagnostic radiology tools, and other veterinary apparatus for diagnostics and treatment. Communicate effectively with clients regarding pet health, treatment plans, and post-procedure care instructions. Requirements Certification as a Veterinary Technician from an accredited program is required; previous veterinary technician experience is highly preferred, but new graduates are welcomed. Demonstrated proficiency in veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, and physiology. Hands-on experience with laboratory procedures such as phlebotomy and diagnostic radiology. Familiarity with anesthesia administration—including general anesthesia—and monitoring veterinary anesthesia during surgeries. Ability to perform IV insertion, animal catheterization, vascular access procedures, and emergency interventions confidently. Strong understanding of veterinary surgical assistance procedures and medical equipment operation. Excellent client communication skills to explain treatments clearly and empathetically. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail in all tasks performed.
