We're seeking a passionate, full-time Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) who thrives in a fast-paced environment to help us elevate our standard of patient care. Position Overview We are seeking a skilled, compassionate, and dedicated Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) to join our growing animal care team. In this role, you will act as the vital link between our veterinarians and pet owners. You will utilize your technical expertise in nursing, surgery, and diagnostics to provide the highest standard of care. Competitive pay based on experience
Key Responsibilities Patient Care & Triage:
Perform physical exams, obtain patient histories, record vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration), and assist with triage.
Anesthesia & Surgery:
Safely administer anesthesia, intubate patients, monitor vital parameters during surgical procedures, and provide dedicated post-operative recovery care.
Diagnostics & Laboratory:
Collect and prepare biological specimens (blood, urine, feces) for analysis. Perform in-house lab testing and operate digital X-ray equipment.
Treatment & Medication:
Administer medications, vaccines, and intravenous (IV) fluids as directed by the veterinarian. Place IV catheters and perform wound care/bandaging.
Client Education:
Communicate effectively with pet owners, explaining treatment plans, administering discharge instructions, and offering preventive health recommendation.
Facility Maintenance:
Maintain a sterile, safe, and organized environment. Ensure surgical instruments, autoclaves, and monitoring equipment are properly cleaned and maintained. Qualifications & Skills Current Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) credential in good standing. Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience is highly preferred. Experience with veterinary practice management software and Electronic Medical Records (EMR) Ability to physically lift up to 40-50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and handle animals of varying temperaments and sizes. Exceptional communication, multi-tasking, and problem-solving abilities in high-pressure situations. Physical Requirements Ability to bend, kneel, and stand for long periods of time. Ability to safely restrain and handle both cats and dogs, even in fear-based or painful situations. Must be able to tolerate common veterinary allergens (dander, fur, latex, etc)
