I-20 Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced, dependable, and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our fast-paced, 24-hour veterinary team in Hudson Oaks, Texas. Previous veterinary technician experience and weekend availability are required for this position. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians with examinations, treatments, and procedures Safely restrain patients and monitor their comfort Obtain patient histories and accurately document medical information Collect and prepare laboratory samples Perform blood draws and place IV catheters Administer medications, injections, and treatments as directed Assist with anesthesia, surgery, radiology, and hospitalized patient care Monitor patients and promptly communicate changes to the veterinarian Educate clients about medications, treatments, and discharge instructions Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked treatment areas Work cooperatively with doctors, technicians, assistants, and client service representatives Required Qualifications Previous veterinary technician experience is required Must be available to work weekends Strong animal-handling and patient-restraint skills Experience with blood draws, IV catheter placement, medication administration, and patient monitoring Ability to remain calm and organized in a busy hospital environment Excellent communication and teamwork skills Dependable attendance and reliable transportation Ability to lift and safely handle animals and equipment Availability to work holidays and other shifts based on hospital needs Licensed Veterinary Technician credentials are welcomed but not required. What We Are Looking For The ideal candidate is an experienced veterinary professional who is dependable, compassionate, team-oriented, and committed to excellent patient and client care. Candidates must be comfortable working independently when appropriate and supporting the team during busy weekend shifts.
Schedule:

Pay:
$24.00 - $27.00 per hour Expected hours: 29.0 - 40.0 per week
