Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in animal care and veterinary practices, demonstrating a passion for providing high-quality care to our patients. This role involves working closely with veterinarians and other staff to ensure the health and well-being of animals in our care. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and procedures. Perform routine laboratory tests and diagnostics, including X-rays. Administer medications and vaccinations as directed by the veterinarian. Provide proper restraint and handling of animals during procedures. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient. Educate pet owners on proper animal care, nutrition, and health maintenance. Monitor animal vital signs and report any changes to the veterinarian. Ensure cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including surgical areas. Utilize aseptic techniques to prevent infection during procedures. Participate in kennel duties, including feeding, grooming, and exercising animals. Qualifications Previous veterinary technician experience is preferred. Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and husbandry. Experience with animal handling and restraint techniques. Familiarity with dental terminology and procedures is a plus. Laboratory experience in performing diagnostic tests is beneficial. Equine experience is an advantage for those working with larger animals. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Strong communication skills for interacting with pet owners and team members. A commitment to providing compassionate care to all animals.
