Job Overview Join our dynamic team as an Animal Transport Technician, where your passion for animal welfare and exceptional handling skills will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and humane transportation of animals. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with animals, and to uphold the highest standards of safety, comfort, and care during transit. Duties Safely load, unload, and secure animals in transport vehicles using proper restraint techniques to prevent injury or stress Monitor animals during transit, ensuring their comfort and well-being throughout the journey Assist with animal handling tasks such as pet care, dog handling, and equine experience to facilitate smooth loading and unloading processes Maintain detailed records of animal transport logs, health status, and any incidents that occur during transit Follow strict protocols for cleaning and disinfecting transport cages, kennels, and equipment to uphold hygiene standards Use personal protective equipment (PPE) appropriately to ensure safety for both animals and staff during all handling procedures Communicate effectively with veterinary teams and clients regarding animal status before and after transport Skills Prior kennel experience combined with veterinary technician or veterinary clinic experience is highly desirable Strong animal handling skills across various species including dogs, horses, and small animals Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal husbandry, anatomy, physiology, and behavior to ensure proper care during transport Experience with IV insertion, medication administration, aseptic technique, and laboratory procedures is a plus Ability to perform animal restraint confidently while maintaining safety for both animals and handlers Excellent record keeping skills coupled with clear client communication abilities Sucessfully pass training courses Requirements Valid Drivers License Must sucessfully pass a criminal background check Must pass pre employment drug and alcohol screening Subject to Random Alcohol and Drug Screenings in accordance to company policy Climate controlled transit van with the ability to secure pet transport crates is a must or the ability to rent a vehicle. •Join us in making a difference by ensuring animals arrive safely at their destinations while receiving compassionate care every step of the way. Pay:
$20.00 - $30.00 per hour
