The City of Beverly Hills is seeking Code Enforcement Officers for long-term assignments supporting municipal code enforcement within the Rodeo Drive business district. These roles are ideal for professionals who bring strong code enforcement knowledge along with excellent customer service skills, professionalism, and the ability to maintain a visible public presence while enforcing City ordinances. These positions require a highly visible presence through foot patrol and a firm, professional approach to addressing municipal code violations. Schedule Four (4) days per week No Saturdays 1:00 PM - 10:00 PM Total of 48 hours per week The City is considering either: One full-time officer working 8 hours of overtime each week, or Two part-time officers to cover the schedule.
Pay Rate:
$35-$38 per hour What You'll Do Maintain a 95% visible presence through foot patrol in the Rodeo Drive business district Enforce municipal code violations with a firm, fair, and professional approach Address violations related to solicitation, panhandling, and unpermitted commercial filming, photography, and videography Communicate effectively with business owners, visitors, residents, and City staff Exercise sound judgment while maintaining positive public relations Document enforcement activities accurately and maintain organized records Provide excellent customer service while ensuring compliance with municipal codes What We're Looking For Strong working knowledge of municipal code enforcement requirements Ability to exercise discretion and sound judgment when addressing compliance issues Excellent customer service and communication skills Professional, approachable demeanor Ability to remain visible and active throughout extended foot patrol assignments Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently Why This Role Matters This position helps preserve the safety, quality, and character of one of the City's premier commercial districts. Job Type Long-Term Assignment Full-Time or Part-Time (depending on staffing needs) In Person Experience and Education/Certification RequirementS Minimum of two (2) years acting in the capacity of a Code Enforcement Officer working for a city or county agency Prior experience as a Building Inspector is preferred Education Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred Preferred Certifications Basic Code Enforcement I Intermediate Code Enforcement
