Applications are being accepted for a part-time Animal Control Assistant with Tuscola County General Statement of Duties Under the general direction of the County Animal Control Director this position is responsible for assisting in the day to day care and cleaning of animals and kennel maintenance, adoption of animals and customer service. Other duties may be assigned as deemed necessary.
Qualifications/Skills Required:
Preferred one year experience in receptionist, shelter, volunteer work with animals, or kennel setting. High School Diploma Answering Phones/Making Appointments Cleaning Kennels Valid Michigan Driver's License Animal Care and handling Clear and concise acquisition reports Comply with all local, state, and federal laws and requirements General Cleaning Taking payments for services Proper enforcement of animal licensing requirements Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally Strong and effective public relations dealing with customer service and adoption processes Strong computer knowledge Ability to handle stress and remain calm in emergency situations Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds Willing to work weekends and irregular hours Assist with fund raisers
