This vital role involves investigating cases of animal neglect, abuse, and abandonment while promoting responsible animal care through education and community engagement. If you have excellent communication skills, a strong commitment to animal welfare, and the ability to handle animals with care, we encourage you to apply.
Location:
St. Louis, MO (primarily serving the St. Louis City/County region)
Primary Responsibilities:
Investigate reports of animal neglect, abuse, and abandonment Educate pet and livestock owners on responsible animal care and welfare Promote awareness of humane practices and responsible pet ownership within the community Collaborate with the Animal Cruelty Task Force to rescue animals in distressing conditions or during disasters Assist with dispatching duties as needed
Qualifications:
6-12 months of relevant education or experience in animal handling or investigations Strong passion for animal welfare and commitment to promoting responsible pet ownership Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills Ability to handle animals with care and compassion Professionalism in challenging and emotionally charged situations Willingness to work weekends and be available for on-call duties Ability to travel for rescues and disaster response Comfortable working in a fast-paced, emotionally challenging environment Must live within 30 minutes of Macklind Headquarters location for on-call purposes
