Nuisance Enforcer

Job Description

Overview Join our team as a Nuisance Enforcer and take an active role in maintaining safe, clean, and enjoyable environments for the community and property owners alike. In this dynamic position, you will be responsible for identifying and reporting nuisances such as property violations, overgrown vegetation, and other hazards and nuisances. Your proactive approach will help ensure compliance with local regulations and promote public health and safety. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a tangible difference in the quality of everyday life while developing valuable skills in identifying nuisances based on the local ordinances and reporting them to the Village Board on a monthly basis. Responsibilities Conduct inspections to identify nuisances including vegetation overgrowth, nonregistered vehicles, junk, garbage, unsafe buildings, pest problems and other violations on public or private properties Enforce local ordinances related to pest control, landscaping, and property maintenance by issuing notices as needed Apply chemical agents safely for pest eradication following pesticide management protocols and integrated pest management strategies Document all inspections, enforcement actions, and follow-up activities accurately in digital or paper records Collaborate with the Village Board on ideas of how to create a community involved clean-up of major problem areas Requirements Proven experience or knowledge in nuisances according to state and local law Ability to recognize nuisances and correlate them to a specific ordinance Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and your own legal vehicle to drive Excellent communication skills to clearly explain enforcement actions and safety guidelines to the public Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining high safety standards This position is a paid opportunity committed to fostering a safe environment through diligent enforcement and proactive nuisance management.
