This position involves overseeing the daily activities of inmates, ensuring compliance with facility rules and regulations, and fostering a safe environment for both staff and inmates. The ideal candidate will possess strong conflict management skills, be able to operate CCTV systems, and have a solid understanding of law enforcement practices. Responsibilities Monitor inmate behavior and enforce facility rules to maintain order. Conduct regular inspections of the facility, including cells and common areas. Utilize CCTV systems to observe inmate activities and ensure safety protocols are followed. Respond to emergencies and incidents, applying CPR and first aid as necessary. Prepare detailed reports on incidents, inmate behavior, and daily activities. Collaborate with law enforcement agencies when necessary to ensure security protocols are upheld. Manage conflicts among inmates effectively to prevent escalation. Participate in ongoing training to maintain certification and enhance skills relevant to the role. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in criminal justice is preferred. Certification in CPR and First Aid is required (can be certified after employment through the facility); additional certifications in conflict management or law enforcement are advantageous. Experience in a militarized environment or previous law enforcement experience is preferred but not required. Strong report writing skills with attention to detail. Ability to remain calm under pressure and make quick decisions in emergency situations. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Must pass background checks as required by the facility. Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds. Must be able to pass a physical. Must be able to pass a Mental Evaluation. This position requires a dedicated individual who is committed to upholding the law while ensuring the safety of all individuals within the correctional environment.
