Job Description

Empower students to access the curriculum with your expertise in assistive technology and braille support. This contract opportunity near Poway, CA seeks a dedicated professional to help transform learning experiences for students with visual impairments.
Qualifications & Experience:
Proficiency in assistive technology specific to visual impairments (screen readers, magnification software, adaptive devices) Strong braille skills, with experience in transcribing, reading, and creating Braille materials Knowledge of legal standards, accessibility, and educational best practices for students with disabilities Experience collaborating with special education teams, teachers, and families Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and adapt to varying student needs
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct support to students using assistive technology tools and braille resources Assess student needs, recommend appropriate technology, and facilitate training for students and staff Produce, adapt, and maintain braille and large-print instructional materials Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure accessibility and inclusion in all learning environments Troubleshoot assistive devices and coordinate with technical support as needed Keep accurate records of equipment, progress, and braille material usage This position offers a rewarding chance to help students succeed by ensuring equal access to educational content.
