We provide full hands-on training and will teach you our complete court restoration and resurfacing process. We specialize in restoring and resurfacing existing tennis, pickleball, and basketball courts. This is an opportunity to learn a specialized trade, receive paid training, and work on projects throughout Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco, Hernando, Manatee, Sarasota, and Polk counties . Experience in painting, concrete, asphalt, landscaping, pressure washing, construction, or general labor is a plus, but reliability, attention to detail, and willingness to learn are most important. Duties Depending on the project, your responsibilities may include: Performing initial court evaluations and site assessments by capturing clear photos and videos of all courts and surface conditions Measuring the exact length and width of all surface cracks using a wheel line measurer Taking precise overall court measurements and documenting site details Transmitting field media, measurements, and surface notes back to management for remote pricing and project planning Preparing and cleaning existing sport court surfaces (power blowing, scraping, pressure washing) Scraping and removing deteriorated or failing surface materials when necessary Repairing cracks, surface imperfections, and low spots based on project specifications Mixing court resurfacing materials, acrylic coatings, and silica aggregate according to specifications Applying acrylic resurfacing materials, coatings, sealers, and color coats using specialized squeegees Painting and precision line-striping for tennis, pickleball, and basketball courts Converting existing tennis courts into pickleball courts Safely operating surface preparation equipment and handling specialized court materials Communicating professionally with property managers, HOA representatives, and clients on-site Working efficiently as part of a small crew Field Assessments & Court Quotes As you gain experience, you may also be asked to help evaluate potential restoration projects in the field. When requested, you will gather project info (measuring courts, taking detailed photos/videos, documenting damage, taking notes) and send it back to Second Serve Courts. You will not be responsible for pricing or proposals. Pay & Hourly Rate $20.00 - $24.00 per hour to start, depending on experience, skill level, and reliability. Opportunities for wage increases as you gain skills. Daily project shifts typically range from 6 to 10 hours. For job sites beyond 45 minutes travel, a $20 - $35 daily travel stipend (or carpool option) is provided to cover gas and vehicle travel. Flexible, On-Call Schedule & Travel Expectations This is a project-based position with a flexible schedule. We coordinate our crew through a private WhatsApp group . When a project becomes available within our regional coverage area (up to ~1.5 hours travel from central Tampa Bay), we post the job location, dates, expected hours, scope of work, and pay rate. Crew members reply with their availability, and we build the team for each project. Hours vary based on project volume. You choose which jobs fit your schedule, but once committed, punctuality and full attendance are expected.
