The Adoption/KinGap expeditor will process all adoptions to finalization and process all KinGap applications expeditiously in efforts to achieve permanency for children in foster care.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Meet with pre-adoptive foster parents and kinship foster parents to gather information and documentation required for adoption home studies, subsidy applications, and finalization processes. Prepare, write, and maintain adoption home studies, including any necessary addendums. Complete adoption and kinship subsidy applications. Collect and organize all required documentation for adoption packets to be submitted to adoptive parents' attorneys for court filing. Gather and prepare all documentation required for KinGap packets. Collaborate closely with casework and homefinding staff to support permanency planning efforts. Attend adoption and KinGap finalization hearings and appear in court as required by judges, ACS attorneys, or other legal representatives. Prepare status reports and permanency updates for caseworkers, court hearings, and other required appearances. Participate in regular adoption and permanency meetings with leadership. Attend all required trainings and remain informed about developments in adoption, kinship care, and child welfare practices through relevant workshops, seminars, and professional development opportunities. Fulfill Mandated Reporter responsibilities by promptly reporting any suspected incidents of child abuse or maltreatment. Meet regularly with the Supervisor to review caseloads, permanency goals, and related case issues. Communicate and collaborate effectively with SCO foster care support staff, including Youth Skills Coaches, Educational/Vocational Specialists, Parent Advocates, medical and mental health professionals, NYC Children's Services, schools, consultants, external service providers, and other relevant stakeholders. Adhere to all SCO personnel policies, procedures, and professional standards. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree required; BSW or MSW preferred. Successful completion of all required background checks and fingerprinting. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, and Connections. Bilingual skills strongly preferred. Valid New York State driver's license required.
