We are seeking a full-time, detail-oriented Evidence Collection Technician to join our company. In this role, you will be responsible for locating, preserving, documenting, and collecting physical evidence from scenes of insurance loss (fire, water, injury, equipment failure). Your work will directly support civil legal proceedings, negotiation and settlement by ensuring the integrity of evidence from the field to the laboratory. Duties At scenes of insurance loss, support the documentation of existing conditions using measurement, photography, videography, 3D scanning among others; and collect physical evidence as directed by investigative professionals, ensuring proper handling and chain of custody. Support digital warehousing of detailed evidence files including photos, artifacts, sign-in sheets, job-related expenses on our server, and within our digital evidence management system. Support physical warehousing of client evidence in our facility using our forklift and sometime physical labor. Support joint destructive examinations in our lab facility using any of the following equipment
automobile lift, portable digital x-ray, data logger, stereomicroscope, pressure and electrical testers and various other tools and equipment. Requirements Clean driving record Familiar with basic building construction. Capable of using standard power tools
skill saw, sawzall, drill, etc. Ability to take clear and useful photos with an automatic digital camera Ability to work in challenging environments. Willingness to work long days on occasion as the scene investigation requires. Ability to stay overnight on occasion
potentially 2x per month as needed. Proficient with standard office software including Microsoft Suite & file management. Ability to communicate professionally with clients and handle confidential information discreetly. Organized and methodical, ability to work well both independently, and as part of our team. Preferred skills & certification
but willing to train Basic comprehension of plumbing, electrical, HVAC systems Equipment operation skills and/or certifications for any of the following: forklift, boom lift, excavator, skid steer, all-terrain forklift Background in some aspect of fire investigation or remediation Rigging skills Supervisory experience CDL, TWIC and/or ECT OSHA10 or OSHA30
