JOB TITLE
EVIDENCE
OFFICER SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Under supervision of an uniformed officer is responsible for securing the storage and retrieval of evidence collected by members of the uniformed patrol.
ILLUSTRATIVE EXAMPLES OF WORK
1. Enters items of evidence into logbook; rechecks stored evidence against log sheet daily. 2. Release evidence to court and to owners, types all release forms. 3. Keeps inventory lists on abandoned vehicles, recovered bicycles, and other evidence too large to store in evidence room. 4. Holds annual auction for recovered, unclaimed property; sell bicycles after six months. 5. Sends blood, urine, and drug evidence to State lab; receives and file completed lab tests. 6. Witnesses destruction of drug evidence. 7. Performs other related duties as assigned or required.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education:
  • Graduation from high school.
Experience:
  • None.
Abilities:
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to type forms.
  • Some knowledge of basic office procedures.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Pay:
$17.58 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
