Sociology Criminal Justice Driver's License Psychology Full Job Description Position Overview:
Seeking an individual to provide information, support and assistance to victims and witnesses involved in criminal cases prosecuted by the County Attorney's office.
General Responsibilities:
Reviews assigned cases and communicates with adult victims or the parent or guardian of minor victims Provides clear information to these individuals regarding the criminal justice system and their statutory rights, as well as notification and information with respect to the progression of their case throughout the criminal justice process Prepares witnesses and victim (family) for court proceedings or deposition testimony and accompanies witnesses and victim to these proceedings Attends Child Advocacy Center forensic interviews of child victims as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Provides information and referrals to community resources
Qualifications:
Must possess a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Sociology, Psychology or other related field Knowledge of issues related to victimization required Three years prior experience working with victims of crime and the court system preferred Possess a valid driver's license with reliable and available means of transportation, as some traveling is required
