Crime Victim Coordinator Salary $41,600.00 Annually Location 237 East Locust, Angleton, Texas 77515, TX Job Type Full Time Job Number 2258 Department District Attorney Opening Date 08/12/2026 Description Benefits Description Work involves developing, implementing, and administering victim programs/services; providing crisis counseling; providing referral services; and interfacing with community organizations involved in crime victim services. This is a grant-funded position and continued employment is contingent upon the availability of grant funds year by year. Knowledge/experience in obtaining/maintaining grants a plus. Salary is $41,600 annually. Example of Duties The primary duties of this position will be: 1) the ability to locate and to communicate with victims/witnesses; 2) assisting victims with victim impact statements and assisting in explaining their legal rights as a crime victim; 3) assisting victims in obtaining financial/counseling assistance via the Attorney General's office; 4) providing a basic level of emotional support to victims; 5) acting as an escort for court/appointments; 6) being the primary contact within the D.A.'s office for victims; 7) assisting victims with protective orders; 8) assisting prosecutors with collecting restitution for victims; and 9) keeping victims updated as to the status of their cases; 10) organizing and participation in ceremonies honoring victims of crime; 11) detailed victim data entry into computer system; 12) capturing statistical data for grant purposes; 13) enter all contacts information/data into computer system; 14) maintain confidential victim files. Required - High school diploma or equivalent, College degree preferred, but not required. No criminal history.
Position also requires the following:
discretion, analytical thinking, articulate writing and verbal skills, good interpersonal relations, good character, and organizational skills. The ability to speak conversational Spanish is strongly preferred but not required. The successful candidate must be compassionate and able to empathize with crime victims. Supplemental Information
