FCI Waseca, MN Duties Help This position is loced in a Federal Bureau of Prisons federal correctional facility, in the Special Investigive Services Office. Serves as an assistant to the Special Investigive Agent (SIA) /Special Investigive Supervisor (SIS) and is responsible for providing assistance during investigions, developing reports, preparing correspondence, maintaining evidence, and computer support. Assists the SIA/SIS in conducting investigions of inme violions of BOP prohibited acts of various severity levels, such as assaults, introduction of contraband or narcotics, possession of money or currency, communicing gang affiliion and/or participing in gang activities, and other prohibited activities. Investigions can range in length from several hours to weeks or months depending on severity. Along with all other correctional institution employees, the Special Investigive Services Technician is charged with responsibility for maintaining security of the institution.
