Job Description

CHARACTERISTICS OF CLASS

Seasonal part time. Works while school is in session.

EXAMPLES OF WORK

Assists school children cross the street at an assigned school cross walk. Directs traffic as required in the crossing area. Reports any problems to the Police Officer in charge Will be required to attend training sessions when scheduled by the Police Department. Alternates may work any crossing when needed and assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

Considerable experience in dealing with children. Completion of Elementary School.

SPECIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

Ability to relate to children and their needs. Ability to work effectively with children. Tactful but firm. Must be a person of sobriety and have no felony convictions. Ability to learn basic traffic rules and direct children at cross walks. Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions. When employee calls in sick for a.m., we will call an alternate for the whole day.

Part-time:
