Job Description
Summary Schoolcraft Elementary is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Lunch/Recess Supervisor. This part-time position plays a crucial role in ensuring a safe, enjoyable, and engaging environment for students during lunch and recess periods. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and a commitment to fostering a positive school climate. Responsibilities Monitor student behavior during lunch and recess to ensure safety and adherence to school rules. Facilitate and promote positive interactions among students, encouraging teamwork and conflict resolution. Assist students with lunchtime routines, including serving food, managing waste, and ensuring cleanliness in the dining area. Organize and lead recreational activities to engage students during recess. Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents regarding any concerns or incidents. Report any safety hazards or maintenance issues to the appropriate school personnel. Support students with special needs as required, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility. Participate in training sessions and staff meetings as needed. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent; experience working with children preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with students of diverse backgrounds. Ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations, demonstrating effective problem-solving skills. Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate activities is a plus. Must pass background checks as required by school policies. Availability to work during lunch and recess hours, typically from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM, on school days. CPR and First Aid certification is preferred but not required; training may be provided.
