To Be Determined Job Description Qualified applicant should have minimum of high school diploma or general education degree (GED). Applicant must have a strong committment to safety, excellent verbal/written communication skills, and strong organizational skills. Leadership or supervisory experience is preferred. This position provides on-site direction and supervision, attempts to resolve concerns for the employee and the public, and advocates on behalf of the crossing guards so they can perform their jobs as efficiently, effectively, and safely as possible. Serve as the lead role for the crossing guards, Be the primary contact for crossing guards who must be absent or have other needs, Assign substitute crossing guards to cover for absent crossing guards, Backfill vacancies if not able to shift personnel around to do so, Investigate complaints, Communicate with building administrators about safety concerns or recommendations, Assist in interviewing prospective applicants, Assist with kick-off meetings, annual training, and evaluations, Fill needs for the Summer Learning Camps (as needed and approved), and Exhibit patience, coutesy and tact when dealing with others. This is a full-time, 180-day position (minimum) with insurance and retirement benefits. Additional days/hours may be obtained by working Summer Learning (subject to approval each year).
