Hourly / At-Will Employee; Non-Benefited (unless otherwise noted) Position Summary The Noon Aide is responsible for ensuring the safety, supervision, and well-being of students during recess and lunch periods. This position promotes a positive, respectful, and inclusive environment by actively monitoring student behavior, reinforcing school expectations, and responding appropriately to conflicts or safety concerns. The Noon Aide collaborates with school staff to maintain orderly routines, encourages positive student interactions, and helps ensure that all students have a safe and enjoyable lunch and recess experience. The schedule for this position is
M-F, 10-2.
Responsibilities Monitors individuals and small groups of students, and/or playground activities for the purpose of providing a safe environment. Communicates tactfully and effectively with students, exercising tact, diplomacy, and good judgement Maintains safety and order of students within assigned areas such as playgrounds, cafeteria, classrooms, hallways, and restrooms while enforcing school rules/regulations Advises students of rules and regulations and proper conduct and behavior Anticipates and intervenes to prevent situations that may endanger students' welfare or safety Reports violations of student conduct to designated authority in a timely manner Follows established procedures in case of accident, injury, or illness Performs other duties similar to the above scope and function as required Knowledge/Skills Adaptable and composed under pressure Strong interpersonal and communication skills Reliable, punctual, and self-directed Sound professional judgment Genuine care for student wellbeing Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or related experience preferred Experience working with youth or students preferred Physical Requirements Work is performed primarily in school buildings, including classrooms, gymnasiums, cafeterias, hallways, and outdoor areas. The noon aide may be required to kneel, crouch, or lift materials of up to 25 pounds in the course of normal duties. This position requires the ability to move throughout school buildings and district facilities. Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.
