Duties Perform comprehensive inspections of buildings, facilities, and construction sites to identify asbestos-containing materials using industry-standard techniques. Collect samples safely and accurately for laboratory analysis, ensuring proper documentation and chain-of-custody procedures. Prepare detailed technical reports outlining inspection findings, risk assessments, and recommended actions, utilizing technical writing skills. Participate in permitting phases by preparing necessary documentation and liaising with regulatory agencies such as OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) and EPA (Environmental Protection Agency). Support environmental compliance efforts by reviewing project plans, conducting site visits, and ensuring adherence to environmental laws and regulations related to asbestos management. Collaborate with project managers, clients, and regulatory bodies to facilitate smooth project execution while maintaining high standards of safety and quality. Skills 2+ years of Proven experience practicing in an environmental science or related field with a focus on hazardous materials like asbestos. Strong technical writing experience for creating clear, detailed inspection reports and regulatory documentation. IDPH licensed and certified Knowledge of OSHA standards, EPA regulations, and environmental law pertaining to asbestos handling and disposal. Experience in environmental consulting, field sampling techniques, data collection, analysis skills, and laboratory procedures. Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently with excellent organizational skills; project management experience is advantageous. Outdoor work experience in various environments requiring mechanical knowledge, water treatment understanding, or wastewater management is beneficial. Effective client communication skills to explain findings clearly and support clients through compliance processes. Familiarity with environmental compliance protocols related to oil & gas operations or public health initiatives enhances your versatility in this role.
