Job Description

Environmental Technician The Hyland Group is an established and growing multi-disciplinary design firm with branch offices in Ocean View, NJ and Media, PA. HDG, the engineering, land surveying and environmental consulting division, is seeking a self-motivated Environmental Technician. Job Description Function as a proficient environmental and regulatory specialist working on permitting and compliance issues Research, review and analyze new rules Review federal and local permits and related plans/ documents/ surveys/ zoning requirements Plan and provide expertise, consultation and evaluation for proposed and performed projects in compliance with NJDEP, and ACOE regulations Perform Soil Test Pit analysis and analyzation for soil quality associated with Septic Design Perform Wetland Delineations in accordance with NJDEP and ACOE Regulations Ensure compliance regulation requirements are met within regulatory timeframes Foster and develop relationships with regulatory agencies clarifying existing, proposed and pending regulations. Prepare Mitigation and Dredging applications and associated systematic operations Work with commercial marinas as well as residential homeowners to solve Land Use compliance issues Perform due diligence and/or feasibility studies for current or prospective property owners Qualifications and Skills A Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Biology or other related field (or equivalent experience). Strong proficiency in report writing/ business writing and organization skills. Ability and desire to learn, and work in a group environment on projects and tasks. Compensation and Benefits Highly competitive salary compensation for a fully qualified candidate, commensurate with experience. We additionally offer health, dental, LTD insurances and a 401k Plan.

The position is largely in office but does also include field work. Applicants must be willing to make site visits and perform field work (physically capable of 6+ hours in the field)
