GSI is looking for a talented Environmental Specialist to join our growing team! In this role you will be overseeing and mitigating risks associated with military bulk fuel management. We are seeking passionate, skilled, and experienced professionals to join a major program that is dedicated to supporting a large government customer in successfully delivering on multiple projects. This individual will be responsible for supporting environmental restoration projects of permitted and unpermitted Defense Fuel Support Points.

What You'll Be Doing :

Address sites affected by fuels and fuel-related contaminants (ex. TPH and VOCs) and emerging contaminants (i.e., PFAS). Prepare and review environmental reports. Provide technical advice to DLA customer on capitalized fuel sites to ensure work products are of the highest technical quality. Provide expertise in remedial design, construction and O&M for environmental restoration projects that may include but not limited to bioremediation, groundwater extraction and treatment, soil vapor extraction, and soil washing), Support Defense Logistics Agency Energy (DLA Energy) and its stakeholders by ensuring state and federal regulatory requirements are defined and implemented. Assist with programs and projects involving remediation and environmental compliance of bulk petroleum infrastructure. Assess project technical closure and support project financial closure in accordance with DLA policies. Provide contract and estimating support for environmental restoration projects.

What Required Skills You'll Bring :

Bachelor's Degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline. Minimum of five years federal experience (preferably DoD) supporting CERCLA, RCRA, and Low-Threat Closure remedial projects. Significant experience working with California regulatory agencies (i.e. RWQCB). Excellent written and oral communications skills and a thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations. A related certificate or license is preferred, but not required (e.g., PMP, PE, or PG certification/license).

Security Clearance Requirement:

Must be a U.S. citizen. This position at a minimum requires a favorable fingerprint/background check and minimum tier 1 investigation completed to obtain a DoD Common Access Card (CAC).

Location:

Primarily telework, but occasional requirements to be at customer offices, Fort Belvoir, VA.

Pay:

$120,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
