Must be able to lift 30 pounds. Valid Florida Driver's License and PBC Risk Management Department driving history approval prior to appointment. Use the Job ID based on the Position Location as follows Location Job ID 405 Pike Road, WPB 35525 Performs technical fire safety inspections, plan reviews, and public education work. Responsible for conducting fire and life safety inspections for new and existing occupancies and buildings, testifying at special magistrate hearings, and participating in community education events. Work involves inspecting various types of occupancies, documenting findings, and educating customers on the best course of action to correct noted violations. Work is reviewed by an administrative superior for completeness and accuracy through reports, conferences, and results obtained.
QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires qualified applicants to possess the following : Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; current Florida Fire Safety Inspector I Certification, Cardiopulmonary (CPR) Certification, and Florida Driver's License.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENT
The selected candidate for this position
MUST:
Complete the Palm Beach County Fire Rescue (PBCFR) Fire Inspector I Task Book within 11 months of hire.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred qualifications include: Current certification as a Florida Firefighter II, Florida Fire Safety Inspector/Investigator, and Bi/trilingual (English/Spanish/Creole).
