Job Description

The tasks listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional tasks related to the type of work of the class as necessary.

May respond to fires and/or other emergencies to provide assistance or mutual aid based on training and qualifications.

Requires Associate's degree, vocational technical degree or specialized training that is equivalent to satisfactory completion of two years of college education with emphasis in fire science, public safety, code enforcement or a closely related field.

Must possess S.C. Deputy Fire Marshal certification or have the knowledge and experience to obtain the certification within six months; may be required to possess or obtain other certifications as deemed necessary by supervisor. Must have knowledge of firearms to include weapon qualification.#
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Requires over two years and up to and including four years in the fire service or three years of experience in code enforcement.
