This position is located in Cascade, Idaho. CRFPD service areas consist of approximately 110 square miles for fire protection and a 1,300 square mile Emergency Medical Services District for ambulance transport. Our EMS District starts at the Boise County/Valley County line on Highway 55, mile marker 84.5, and continues north to mile marker 125 on Highway 55. Cascade Rural Fire Protection District provides Structural Fire Suppression, Wildland Fire Suppression, ALS Ambulance Transport Service, Vehicle Extrication, Swiftwater Rescue, Coldwater Rescue, and Snowmobile Rescue. We respond to a broad spectrum of calls throughout the year. All personnel responds to all types of calls in all types of environments and sometimes remote areas. Protect life and property through activities associated with emergency medical incidents, fire prevention, fire suppression, hazardous materials, and rescue operations. 1. Respond to fire alarms; perform all necessary duties as needed; including but not limited to, initiating the Incident Command System, operate equipment and tools necessary in fire suppression, life safety, incident stabilization, property preservation, and rescue operations. 2. Respond to emergency medical and trauma calls in the ambulance; responsible for the initial patient contact, assessment, preventative treatment, and transport to a medical care facility; responsible for treatment decisions, transport decisions, compiling, writing, and submitting required EMS and Fire reports. 3. Perform general maintenance work in cleaning, storing, restocking of CRFPD equipment on fire, rescue and ambulance apparatus along with assistance in the maintenance of stations and grounds. 4. Participate in pre-emergency planning utilizing computer software, building layout and, acquiring knowledge of physical addressing within the response, area to improve life safety. 5. Must serve as leaders, including setting examples inside and outside of the department. 6. Must be committed to Self-Development, Public Service and Professionalism.

Secondary Functions:

1. Assist in record-keeping and clerical needs to maintain daily operations of the

CRFPD. 2.

Ability to operate equipment or apparatus involved with fire district daily operations. 3. Perform maintenance required for the daily upkeep of the fire station and station grounds may include general housekeeping, building, and ground maintenance. 4. Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Scope:

Career Personnel will be assigned related duties within Cascade Rural Fire Protection District. This involves contact with a wide variety of personalities both inside and outside of CRFPD. The career personnel is expected to have a high degree of independent decision-making in emergency situations; it also involves complex emergency and maintenance duties that may have a direct impact on the operation of CRFPD. The career personnel may be exposed to all manner of environmental conditions including inclement weather, extreme temperatures, dust, noise, dim lighting, and all other conditions that may be involved with the performance of essential functions. Career Personnel may be exposed to such hazards as fumes, flame, chemicals, blood, and other body fluids, and all other hazards in the performance of essential functions. May require the operation of various types of equipment, machinery, apparatus, and rescue vehicles as needed. During an emergency situation, career personnel may be required to work long extended periods of time between meals and breaks.
