Certification Hazmat High school diploma or GED Firefighting Class E Performing background checks Full Job Description The City of Folly Beach is accepting applications for the position of full-time firefighter. Successful applicant will be required to pass a physical, psychological test, polygraph test and extensive background check.

Qualification/Certification requirements include the following:

Firefighter II, Haz-Mat operations, SC Class E driver's license, current EMT certification or higher medical training and preferred EVDT is preferred. Also, must be 21 years old, possession of a high school diploma or GED, have US Citizenship. The City offers a full benefit package to include health, dental and long-term disability insurance paid by the City. Vision, dental plus, supplemental ltd and optional life are also available. The City of Folly Beach is a member of SC PEBA retirement systems. Starting Salary for the position is $53,434.44. Successful applicant will also be eligible for $2,501.19 for 11 paid holidays. Certification stipend bonuses are available for up to $9K annually for additional certifications possessed or obtained during employment i.e firefighter, EMS, Instructor, water rescue, DRE, etc. Minorities and females are encouraged to apply.
