The Bridge Inspection Data Assistant role is responsible for entering bridge inspection information into the ODOT Bridge Management System (BrM), assisting with the preparation and submission of inspection deliverables to ODOT and local agencies, and maintaining organized inspection records and archives. Working closely with bridge inspection team members, the Bridge Inspection Data Assistant helps ensure inspection documentation, data management, and submittal activities are accurate, complete, compliant, and on schedule. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically proficient, highly organized, and committed to maintaining data integrity, quality standards, and effective collaboration while supporting departmental goals and safety requirements.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Accurately enters inspection report data into the ODOT Bridge Management System (BrM). Assists with preparation of bridge inspection submittal for appropriate county or municipality and ODOT, including reports, CDs, and maps. Maintains orderly archive of bridge files. May occasionally but infrequently assist in performing onsite visual bridge inspections according to federal and state standards and procedures. Attends and participates in annual ODOT and internal QC/QA training. Collaborates with team to coordinate workflow, file management, inspections, data entry, and submittal schedules. Participates in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals. Complies with all safety policies, practices, and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or general education diploma (GED). One year's related experience and/or training preferred.
English language skills:
ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to write routine reports and correspondence; ability to speak effectively to CEC team members and clients.
Mathematical skills:
ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.
Reasoning skills:
ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Proficient personal computer skills, including electronic mail, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc. ODOT BrM familiarity preferred.
Organizational skills:
ability to prioritize and organize tasks; ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously; ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. Remote connectivity device (e.g., smart phone, tablet, etc.) with data plan sufficient for company requirements, including multi-factor authentication, time and mileage tracking, expense reimbursement, e-mail, and virtual communications.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Sedentary physical activity performing non-strenuous daily activities of a technical nature. Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and using hands to finger, handle or feel. Ability to sit up to eight hours per day. Ability to manipulate computer mouse up to eight hours per day. Ability to see clearly 20 inches or less and 20 feet or more; ability to identify and distinguish colors; ability to adjust focus.
Occasional Additional Field Requirements:
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time, frequently over uneven surfaces. Ability to traverse uneven terrain, climb over or crawl under obstacles. Ability to occasionally sit in vehicle more than four hours.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Office work is in well-lighted, heated and/or air-conditioned indoor office/production setting with adequate ventilation and moderate noise. Work may be occasionally outdoors, including performing strenuous physical activity and exposure to changing weather conditions (rain, sun, snow, wind, etc.). Requires use of protective and/or safety equipment.
WORK SCHEDULE
Fixed schedule of 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, including fixed core hours. Occasional overtime required. Eligible to submit application for alternate schedule and/or telecommuting after 90 days. This position includes safety-sensitive job functions, and random screenings will be conducted in accordance with CEC's Drug and Alcohol Testing Policy. CEC is an equal opportunity employer.
