The work is meaningful, and you already know that or you would not be reading this. It is the intake. It is the client who should have been turned away, handed to you anyway, who calls six times a day and will not pay the bill. It is being handed a file three weeks before a hearing with no strategy and no support. It is finding out at 6:00 PM that something was never calendared. We built this firm to not work that way. How We Actually Operate We screen hard before we sign. Every prospective client goes through real pre-screening before onboarding. When a case lands on your desk, someone already decided it was worth taking and that the client can work with us. You will not inherit a mess you did not create. You get courtroom time. Family law puts you in front of judges more than almost any other practice area, and we are in court regularly. Contested hearings, evidentiary proceedings, and trials. If you want reps, this is where you get them. You have support. Paralegals, a dedicated intake team, and an operations function whose entire purpose is that attorneys practice law instead of chasing filings and fixing calendars. You know where you stand. Our values are Excellence, Authenticity, and Respect, and authenticity here means respectful directness. Feedback is direct and it is timely. You will never have to decode what someone actually meant. We are hiring our third attorney as planned growth, with the client base already in place. This is not a scramble to cover a departure. What You Will Do Handle family law matters from initial strategy through resolution: divorce, legal separation, child custody, parenting time, child support, spousal maintenance, and modifications Appear in court throughout Arizona for hearings, conferences, evidentiary proceedings, and trials Draft and argue motions, prepare briefs and memoranda, and own the quality of everything filed under your name Conduct legal research and build sound case strategy Counsel clients honestly through decisions that are emotionally difficult and legally consequential Negotiate settlements when settlement genuinely serves the client Work with paralegals and staff to keep cases moving and clients informed Tell us when a process is broken. We change things that do not work. Growth Path Our structure puts attorneys at the head of practice areas, with a primary and a secondary focus. Family law is the anchor of this role. We are also building out estates, trust, guardianship, and probate, and an attorney who brings that background can grow into leading it. Work Structure Hybrid. Court appearances, client meetings, and team collaboration happen onsite in Tucson. Trial prep, drafting, and case preparation can be done remotely when it makes sense. Required Qualifications Active Arizona Bar admission in good standing Demonstrated family law experience including courtroom appearances and contested hearings Excellent legal writing and analytical skills Organized and reliable with the ability to manage competing deadlines without being chased Self-motivated and interested in building a career inside a growing firm Willingness to travel for court appearances throughout Arizona Strongly Preferred Estates, trust, guardianship, or probate background Spanish fluency Compensation and Benefits $120,000 to $172,000 base, depending on experience Performance bonus tied to billable hours and collected revenue 401(k) Health, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off Professional development assistance
