Job Description
Enters, modifies and deletes, as is necessary, all wanted, holds and notifies in automated and manual records. Contact solicitors, judges, clerks of court, sheriff's department, magistrates and other law enforcement agencies to research, clarify and obtain information on detainers. Process institutional copies of detainer documents to ensure documentation is provided to the institutions. Research and responds to correspondence and phone calls from SCDC personnel, other law enforcement agencies, attorneys and inmate relatives. Processes detainers from the U.S. Marshall's Services, and immigration customs enforcement. Provides training to records personnel and classification caseworkers on detainer related issues. Good time management skills and filing abilities required. Performs other related job duties as required. State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma and experience in records management, information systems, or office administration.
SCDC Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma and two (2) years of clerical experience; OR A bachelor's degree may be substituted for experience. Must have experience in the use of a computer.
