Data Privacy Legal Intern Are you a current law student? The Utah Office of Data Privacy has an opening for a legal intern! This position may be filled as a paid position that is ineligible for school credit or an unpaid position that may be eligible for school credit. Key Responsibilities The legal intern may assist different programs within the Utah Office of Data Privacy, although much of their work will be dedicated to the development of new data governance models. The legal intern will be tasked with researching, reviewing, analyzing, and summarizing:
State and federal constitutional provisions, laws, rules, and regulations;
Executive orders;
Ordinances enacted by political subdivisions;
Internal policies of governmental entities;
Court decisions;
Administrative decisions and rulings; and
Proposed state or federal legislation. Qualifications To be considered for this position an applicant must be a current or recently graduated law student. In addition to any other information required by the online application system, applicants should submit a resume and writing sample. Applicants should be able to demonstrate they:
Have an understanding of the relationship between laws, rules, regulations, executive orders, ordinances, policies, and case law;
Are familiar with the legislative and administrative rulemaking process; and
Have the ability to understand complex legal concepts and efficiently conduct legal research. About the Role Location
