Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and decisive Chief of Police to lead our law enforcement efforts with integrity, strategic vision, and unwavering commitment to public safety. As the top law enforcement officer within our organization, you will oversee all policing operations, ensure adherence to legal standards, and foster strong community relationships. Your leadership will be vital in maintaining a safe environment, managing personnel, and implementing effective crime prevention strategies. Responsibilities Provide strategic direction and overall management of police department operations, including patrol, investigations, traffic enforcement, and community outreach. Lead, mentor, and evaluate police personnel to ensure high performance, professionalism, and adherence to departmental policies. Oversee criminal investigations by coordinating case assignments, ensuring thorough evidence collection, and maintaining procedural law compliance. Develop and implement crime prevention initiatives and community engagement programs to foster trust and collaboration with residents. Ensure all officers are trained in first aid protocols, CPR, surveillance techniques, search and seizure laws, and other essential law enforcement skills. Manage departmental resources efficiently, including vehicles, equipment, and technology such as CCTV systems and surveillance tools. Maintain accurate records through detailed report writing, evidence documentation, and compliance with legal standards such as evidence law and criminal procedure. Collaborate with local agencies on criminal investigations involving immigration law violations or animal handling when relevant. Enforce traffic laws diligently while promoting safe driving practices across the community. Stay current on procedural law knowledge, criminal law updates, and new law enforcement techniques to enhance operational effectiveness. Skills Proven leadership experience in law enforcement or military service with a strong ability to manage teams effectively. Extensive knowledge of criminal investigation procedures, evidence law, search and seizure law, criminal procedure, and traffic laws. Skilled in report writing with attention to detail for legal documentation and case management. Proficient in surveillance technology usage for crime detection and prevention efforts. Excellent conflict management skills with the ability to handle high-pressure situations calmly and decisively. Familiarity with animal handling protocols when necessary for specific investigations or community interactions. Strong understanding of procedural law knowledge related to criminal investigations and law enforcement operations. Ability to operate a vehicle safely under various conditions; valid driver's license required. Experience in immigration law or loss prevention is a plus but not mandatory; must demonstrate adaptability across diverse scenarios. Pay:
$53,629.40 - $64,585.94 per year
