Telecommunicator Job Type:

Full Time Waynesboro, VA Waynesboro Police Department Salary:

$21.06 hourly.

Position Summary:

Department of Emergency Management This position will be responsible for Receiving 911 calls and dispatching Fire, Police, and Rescue personnel. General knowledge of radio dispatch procedures, the geography of the City of Waynesboro, excellent computer skills and the ability to speak distinctly, the ability to work with the public effectively/courteously under stressful conditions, and the ability to achieve/maintain required certification as a Department of Criminal Justice Services Dispatcher and other associated training. Ability to work flexible/rotating schedule, (including nights/weekends/holidays) Drug test and criminal background check are required.

Requirements:

Must be 18 yrs old. H.S. diploma/GED.
