Role Summary As a Patrol Officer for the City of Cortez, you help maintain public safety by enforcing laws and local ordinances and responding to community needs. You'll take action professionally, document incidents clearly, and communicate effectively with the public and partner agencies.
Key responsibilities include:
Patrol assigned areas and respond to calls for service
Enforce criminal and traffic laws and City ordinances
Conduct investigations, prepare accurate reports, and provide court testimony as needed
Use approved equipment and tactics safely, including firearms and defensive tools Required qualifications/skills:
Certified in Intoxilizer, Radar, Nystagmus, pepper spray, and PPCT
Strong oral and written communication; able to work under stress and shift schedules
Good physical condition; no felony convictions
Two-year degree (criminal justice/related) or HS/equivalent plus training sufficient for certification Apply to serve Cortez with integrity and professionalism.
