Are you a certified officer or currently in the academy? The West Dundee Police Department is expanding its ranks to meet the growing needs of our community. As the Village continues to develop and our population and service demands increase, we are adding new positions to ensure we maintain the high standard of service our residents & businesses expect and deserve.
This hiring initiative comes at an exciting time for the department. The Village continues to advance plans for a new 35,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art police facility, demonstrating its ongoing commitment to growth, modernization, and providing officers with the resources they need to serve our community effectively.
We are seeking driven, dedicated professionals to join our team and contribute to a department that values proactive policing, continuous improvement, and community partnership. We offer an excellent opportunity for certified officers, as well as academy recruits ready to lateral in after earning their police certification, to fast-track their careers within a professional and forward-thinking agency.
Department Highlights:
Current contract is being negotiated (salary range will increase)
12-Hour patrol shifts - enjoy every other weekend off
Full Illinois Police Pension + 457 Deferred Comp options
7 step salary scale - $78,552 to $112,858 (will increase with contract ratification)
No written exam or POWER Test for laterals
Lateral immediately after State Certification!

Minimum Requirements:
Certified police officer in the State of Illinois
High school diploma or GED
US Citizen
Valid Driver's License
Must be 21 years of age at time of appointment
Must successfully pass:
Background investigation
Interview
Polygraph
Psychological & medical exams
Drug screening
Review of past/current performance evaluations
No
P.O.W.E.R.
card or written exam required for eligible lateral applicants.
