Job Description
Town of Ashfield Employment Opportunity Full-Time Police Officer The Town of Ashfield seeks applications for a Full-Time Police Officer. The Town of Ashfield is a small town of approximately 1,700 residents in the hill towns of Franklin County. It is a tight-knit town where officers are expected to be a part of the community, and focusing on community policing is required. Applicants must have passed a Massachusetts Police Training Commission (M.P.T.C.) approved police academy and be Massachusetts POST Certified. Minimum requirements include the ability to work in the U.S., be at least 21 years of age, have a valid MA Driver's License, MA License to Carry (LTC) and high school diploma. The anticipated salary for this position ranges from $68,000 to $72,000. This position includes nights and weekends. The appointment of the final candidate will be contingent upon the results of pre-placement conditions including criminal, motor vehicle, credit record checks, and a thorough background investigation. The appointment will be made by the Ashfield Select Board, based on the recommendation of the Police Chief.
