$25.00 Employees being promoted to a higher classified position receive the minimum for the position or a pay rate adjustment of 8% whichever is greater. This is a critical position on campus. Fundamental purpose of the police officer is to provide assistance to
citizens in need while protecting students, staff, faculty, visitors and their property from harm. Officers are
expected to appropriately respond to emergencies, enforce state and local laws on a co-ed campus.
JOBS FUNCTIONS
Patrol campus and assist citizens in need. Patrol campus to deter crime, ensure safety and compliance with state and local laws. Open or Secure campus buildings EMRTC field lab sites as scheduled. Conduct thorough investigations of all alleged crimes. Quickly, Completely, and Accurately complete incident reports and other documents. Participate in departmental training and activities Perform other duties as assigned Additional Information

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High School (or GED) level ability in spelling, grammar, composition and math. Must be 18 years or older. Read, understand, and interpret laws, ordinances and operating procedures. Physical strength to chase and subdue fleeing persons. Ability to make split second decisions in stressful ,hostile, fluid situations that affects safety of self and others. Communicate well orally and in writing and be able to effectively use a computer. Valid NM driver's license. Possess a NMLEA Police Officer certification and be in good standing. Security clearance may be required. A pre-employment drug screen required upon hire.
