Job Description

Butler Township is currently accepting applications for full-time Police Officers. Butler Township is located in southern Luzerne County and is dissected by Interstates 80 and 81. Butler Township Police provide 24/7 protection to more than 10,000 residents within our 36 square mile area. Officers are covered by a collective bargaining agreement and offer a competitive benefits package. New employee salary incentives are available for previous full-time police experience.
Position Highlights:

Starting Pay :
$52,166 - $65,208 based on experience o Step increases over 3-4 years to Patrolman 2 salary (full rate) $86,944

  • U.S. Citizen
  • 21 years of age
  • Act 120 certification
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Be physically, medically and psychologically fit for the performance of the duties of a police officer and shall be of good moral character
  • Licensed to operate an automobile in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Candidates selected will undergo an extensive background investigation prior to appointment.
