Summary Objective The purpose of this position is to perform a variety of technical duties in support of the County's local code enforcement program. This class works under general supervision, independently developing work methods and sequences. Essential Functions The essential functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary. Monitors and enforces a variety of ordinances, codes, and regulations related to zoning, land use, nuisance housing, building codes, health and safety, blight, graffiti, water waste, and other matters of public concern. Serves as a resource and provides information on County regulations to property owners, residents, businesses, the general public, and other County departments and divisions. Issuing building permits and business licenses. Conduct building, zoning, and land use inspections. Takes appropriate enforcement action against violations of County development and zoning regulations. Performs related work as assigned.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

Requires High School graduation or GED equivalent. Requires two years of experience in law enforcement or closely related field; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
