Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate, ethical, and highly skilled licensed counselor to join our outpatient team. The ideal candidate has experience and a strong interest in forensic mental health, high-conflict family systems, and working collaboratively with child welfare agencies, attorneys, Guardians ad Litem (GALs), and the court system. This clinician should be comfortable maintaining therapeutic neutrality while providing ethical, trauma-informed care to children, adults, and families involved in complex legal and family court matters Experience with co-parenting counseling, reunification therapy, court-involved families, or child welfare cases is preferred. We are committed to providing continual training for clinicians who have a background in this area of practice. Responsibilities Maintain a clinical caseload while providing high-quality, evidence-based mental health services. Complete timely, accurate, and insurance-compliant documentation, including treatment plans and progress notes. Provide individual, family, couples, and group counseling as appropriate. Work collaboratively with DHR, attorneys, Guardians ad Litem (GALs), schools, medical providers, and other multidisciplinary professionals when clinically appropriate. Provide counseling services for families experiencing high-conflict dynamics, custody-related concerns, child welfare involvement, and other court-related matters while maintaining therapeutic neutrality and adherence to ethical standards. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that prioritize client safety, trauma-informed care, and family well-being. Submit monthly reports to the Outpatient Coordinator. Collaborate effectively with colleagues to ensure continuity and quality of care. Experience Current Alabama Licensure as an LPC, LMFT, or LICSW Preferred minimum of two years of experience providing outpatient counseling to children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families Experience working with trauma, family conflict, or court-involved populations is preferred. Ability to maintain professional boundaries, ethical neutrality, and objective clinical documentation in legally sensitive cases. Medicaid credentialing and/or participation with major insurance panels preferred, or willingness to become credentialed within 3-6 months.
