General Counsel (Part-Time)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced General Counsel to join our Executive Leadership Team and help shape the future of our growing organization. Reporting to the COO/CFO, you will serve as a trusted advisor across the business, providing guidance on legal, regulatory, and compliance matters with a focus on alcohol beverage law, sales and distribution compliance, and consumer marketing regulations. You will lead contract negotiations, support business initiatives, manage legal risk, and ensure compliance while enabling innovation and growth. The ideal candidate combines strong legal expertise with sound business judgment, exceptional communication skills, and a collaborative approach. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Advise executive members and internal staff on compliance and risk mitigation with respect to new laws, existing laws, and legal matters that may impact operations Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal staff, vendors, and business partners, providing legal support and education where needed Provide guidelines and counsel on marketing and digital initiatives Oversee all legal issues, including acting as the company's legal representative, both internally and externally Write, review, and support negotiating client and vendor contracts Maintain legal documents and operations and become a subject matter expert in the same Develop and review legal strategy in response to litigation, customer or regulatory inquiries Support/advise Finance to ensure compliant document production for business partners Support HR and compliance staff and outside counsel Advise on customer data permissions and consumer privacy compliance Provide generalist counsel and guidance on various legal matters as they arise, including, but not limited to, consumer complaints, intellectual property, partnership agreements Ensure corporate filings are maintained for all key entities Participate and advise in strategic initiatives and advise on business model changes Monitor the compliance marketplace to spot new trends, rules etc.
QUALIFICATIONS
Juris Doctor from an accredited law school 8+ years of practice as an attorney with an established law firm or governmental entity, preferably in beverage alcohol or another highly regulated industry Proficient legal experience dealing with regulatory agencies and outside counsel Comfort working in a subjective, evolving environment Highly detailed, well-organized, and strong problem-solving ability Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills Ability to multi-task and work well in demanding circumstances Professional representation of the company and proficient understanding of business sensitivities and confidentiality Confirm that you saw this job posting on GoInhouse.com when applying
