Stuart, Florida Full-Time | In-Office $120,000-$160,000 per year, depending on experience, plus performance-based bonus opportunities Position Overview McBride Legal Group, P.A. is a growing, litigation-focused family-law firm seeking an experienced attorney to join our team in Stuart, Florida. This position is intended for an attorney who can assume meaningful responsibility for an active family-law caseload, provide clients with honest and strategic guidance, and confidently handle hearings, mediations, depositions, negotiations, and trials. The attorney will work with experienced paralegal and administrative support while remaining personally accountable for case strategy, deadlines, work quality, client communication, and results. Our practice includes divorce, paternity, parental responsibility and timesharing, child support, alimony, equitable distribution, modifications, enforcement proceedings, injunctions, and related family-law litigation throughout Florida's Treasure Coast. We are looking for a capable litigator who exercises sound judgment, communicates directly and professionally, and understands that excellent legal work and excellent client service are equally important. Responsibilities Independently manage family-law matters from initial consultation through resolution. Develop case strategy based on the client's objectives, applicable law, available evidence, proportionality, and realistic expectations. Advise clients candidly regarding their options, risks, costs, and likely paths forward. Draft, review, and revise petitions, answers, counterpetitions, motions, memoranda, discovery, subpoenas, proposed orders, settlement agreements, parenting plans, and other legal documents. Prepare for and attend hearings, case-management conferences, depositions, mediations, settlement conferences, and trials. Conduct direct and cross-examination of witnesses and present evidence and legal argument effectively. Conduct legal research using Westlaw, CoCounsel, and other available resources. Manage discovery, mandatory disclosure, financial issues, expert witnesses, evidentiary matters, and trial preparation. Negotiate professionally and effectively with opposing counsel. Maintain timely and meaningful communication with clients. Review client goals and expectations throughout the representation and provide realistic legal guidance. Delegate appropriate assignments to paralegals and other support staff while supervising accuracy, timeliness, and completion. Review substantive work prepared by paralegals and law clerks before filing or delivery. Maintain complete and organized electronic files, accurate calendars, and reliable deadline controls. Record time accurately and comply with the firm's billing and case-management procedures. Collaborate with the Managing Attorney and legal team on complex, high-conflict, or strategically significant matters. Contribute positively to the firm's professional culture, systems, and continued growth. Maintain the highest standards of professionalism, confidentiality, candor, and ethical conduct. Required Qualifications Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school. Active membership in good standing with The Florida Bar. Meaningful litigation experience, including responsibility for contested hearings or trials. Strong legal research, analysis, drafting, and oral-advocacy skills. Working knowledge of the Florida Rules of General Practice and Judicial Administration, Florida Family Law Rules of Procedure, Florida Rules of Civil Procedure, and Florida Evidence Code. Ability to independently manage deadlines, competing priorities, client expectations, and a litigation caseload. Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients, opposing counsel, judicial assistants, court personnel, witnesses, experts, and firm employees. Sound professional judgment and the ability to identify when consultation or escalation is appropriate. Strong organization, attention to detail, personal accountability, and follow-through. Ability to work full-time in the firm's Stuart office and travel to proceedings when required. Preferred Qualifications Five or more years of litigation experience. Substantial Florida family-law experience. First-chair hearing or trial experience. Experience handling financially complex or high-conflict family-law matters. Experience supervising and effectively delegating work to paralegals. Familiarity with Clio, Microsoft 365, Adobe Acrobat, Family Law Software, Westlaw, or similar legal technology. Experienced civil litigators, former prosecutors, former public defenders, and attorneys from other litigation practices are encouraged to apply if they possess strong courtroom experience and are committed to developing proficiency in Florida family law.
