Associate Attorney

Job Description

Our client is seeking an Associate Attorney to join a litigation practice in the Philadelphia suburbs. This permanent opportunity is suited for an attorney with 1-3 years of experience who is eager to build courtroom skills while contributing to significant matters involving medical malpractice, catastrophic injury, product liability, and general litigation. The role offers substantial client contact, close collaboration with experienced trial lawyers, and meaningful involvement in case development from the early stages through resolution.
Responsibilities:
  • Handle litigation matters with increasing autonomy while partnering with senior trial attorneys on case strategy and execution.
  • Prepare and refine substantive legal documents, including complaints, motions, briefs, discovery requests, and related filings.
  • Research legal issues thoroughly and translate findings into practical strategies for complex civil cases.
  • Manage deposition work by preparing witnesses, questioning fact and expert witnesses, defending depositions, and assessing testimony for case positioning.
  • Communicate directly with clients and coordinate with medical, technical, and other specialists to strengthen claims and damages presentation.
  • Support mediation and settlement efforts by organizing case materials, evaluating exposure, and participating in negotiation discussions.
  • Assist in trial readiness by developing exhibits, preparing witnesses, drafting pretrial motions and jury materials, and organizing evidentiary presentations.
  • Contribute in courtroom and arbitration settings, with opportunities to grow into first-chair and second-chair responsibilities as experience advances.
  • Participate in practice development efforts and build strong relationships that support long-term client growth and business generation.
