A nationally recognized plaintiff-side medical malpractice practice is expanding due to significant growth and seeking an experienced trial attorney to help lead a newly created litigation team. This is a rare opportunity to step into a leadership role handling high-stakes birth injury cases with substantial verdict and settlement potential. The practice focuses exclusively on catastrophic birth injury litigation and has achieved multiple seven-figure outcomes on behalf of clients. Why This Opportunity Stands Out Build and lead a newly formed trial team Handle complex, high-value birth injury cases from intake through trial National practice with meaningful courtroom exposure Entrepreneurial compensation model with significant bonus upside Direct access to experienced litigation support, including a dedicated nurse attorney Proven pipeline of cases and strong trial docket Responsibilities Serve as first-chair trial counsel in birth injury litigation matters Develop case strategy and oversee all phases of litigation Prepare and defend expert and fact witness depositions Manage settlement negotiations and trial preparation Supervise and mentor supporting attorneys and staff Travel as necessary for litigation and trial assignments Qualifications Minimum 8+ years of litigation experience Significant first-chair birth injury trial experience required Ability to independently manage complex medical malpractice cases Strong deposition, motion practice, and courtroom skills Active bar admission in any U.S. jurisdiction Compensation & Benefits Base salary: $200,000+ Performance bonuses tied directly to case results Origination incentives available Individual health coverage 401(k) plan Hybrid work arrangement Location This position is based in the Maryland suburbs of Washington, DC. Hybrid flexibility is available, but attorneys are expected to maintain a regular in-office presence. This is not a fully remote role.
