Job Description

Description Lee County is seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and dependable Legal Administrative Specialist to join our County Attorney team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys supporting legal staff, preparing high-quality documents, and keeping processes running smoothly through accuracy, consistency, and strong communication. In this role, you'll prepare and process a wide variety of legal documents and produce official correspondence, and serve as a professional point of contact for internal staff, the Board of County Commissioners, and members of the public. If you enjoy producing precise work, staying organized, and contributing to the efficiency of a busy legal team, this may be a great fit. Duties and Responsibilities What You'll Do This is a hands-on legal administrative support role focused on legal document preparation, organization, and proactive, timely follow-through.
Daily responsibilities include:
Proactively reviewing incoming requests and preparing legal documents, agenda items, and other items for attorneys without needing direction Prepare correspondence, memorandums, reports, agreements, resolutions, ordinances, administrative codes, and notices of intent with accuracy and within established timeframes Prepare and process standard legal documents, including subpoenas, contracts, summonses, appeals, motions, and various other pleadings Communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing, with the Board of County Commissioners, administrative staff, and the general public Provide information and respond to inquiries via email, telephone, and in person Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail across all work products Education, Experience, Licensing Minimum Requirements Salary based upon experience Candidates must meet any combination of education and experience equivalent to: High School graduation or GED equivalent; and Two years of office support experience, preferably in a legal environment or closely related field Valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is someone who: Works with precision and produces consistent, error-free documents Anticipates needs and takes proactive action to support attorneys efficiently Manages multiple tasks and deadlines in an organized, dependable manner Communicates clearly and professionally with internal staff and the public Maintains confidentiality, accuracy, and compliance across all work Learns new systems quickly and adapts well to routine workflows Enjoys supporting a team and contributing to smooth administrative operations Demonstrates proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) Has knowledge of CivicPlus Agenda System, Smartsheet programs, and Document Management Systems Is proficient in Adobe Acrobat for document creation, editing, and formatting
Supplemental Information Work Schedule:
